When I first saw the package containing the ice cream scooper, or in Italian, dosatore per gelato, my heart skipped a beat. Ah, images of Italian ice cream made me salivate. Much as I adored Ben and Jerry’s, Haagen Dazs and other premium brands, it’s the Italians that had ice cream down pat. Where else could I have had an instant memory recall of strolling down the crowded streets of Florence, licking my cones of gelato or singing “Santa Lucia” as the horses on my horse and buggy ride cloppety clopped down the narrow streets on a moonlit night?

What does this have to do with an ice cream scooper, you ask? Oh, imagine the anticipation of taking it out to do its work... to bring joy and excitement to all who surround you as you eagerly take out cartons of ice cream.

Another use for the ice cream scoop is that the smaller versions are great for making uniform cookies, scoop the dough and drop on your cookie sheet...they are all the same size!! (contributed by K. Da Silva)
