DiamondVee Knife Sharpener
|
DiamondVee Knife Sharpener is an ideal gift for your mother/wife/girlfriend because
as the old adage goes, "diamonds are a girl's best
friend."
It is equally an ideal gift for your father/husband/boyfriend, because,
men really like sharpening knives.
How it works:
- Open the package. This is actually the hardest part.
- Take a knife that needs sharpening. Hold the base of the DiamondVee (hand is behind the plastic guard) on
the table with one hand and take the knife in the other hand. Stroke the knife against the rod with a downward
motion (imagine yourself cutting the air) dragging the knife against the rod from heel to tip.
- Repeat this action to sharpen the other knife edge against the other rod.
- Be amazed how simple it is.
Why it works better:
- The Diamond Vee has 2 set rods aligned at a 20 degree angle that makes it look like a Vee shape. This
sharpening angle is set for the correct cutting angle. Think twice before taking out your protractor the next
time you try sharpening with another utensil.
- Works for sharpening serrated knives too!
- The rods are covered with diamond dust, the hardest material known to man.
They will never wear out. Did
you know that only diamonds can cut other diamonds? Thank goodness the two rods don't touch.
- Kitchen safety. The DiamondVee comes with a very handy plastic guard to protect against
kitchen klutzes and prevent a bloody mess.
Just be careful with your sharpened knife.
How we tested:
- Took a very ripe tomato and tried cutting it with a dull knife. Splat!
- Sharpened the knife with the Diamond Vee. We found that 3-4 times through the vee produced the right
sharpness.
- The tomato cut very nicely.
Bottom Line:
The Cubic Zirconia U knife sharpener,as seen on info-mercials, really can't compare.
