Looneyspoons : Low-Fat Food Made Fun! by Janet Podleski, Greta Podleski This is the low-fat book. They didn't stick to the standard bland rabbit food but challenged themselves with usually high-fat recipes such as: No Pudge Chocolate Fudge or Say "Cheesecake". Their colorful titles such as Chili Chili Bang Bang,Veal of Fortune,Viceless Riceless Pudding show that they have the spirit of a Messy Gourmet! The cartoon art accompanying the recipes add to the fun. Great gift book. Check out their contribution to the Messy Gourmet.

Eat Dangerously by Benjamin Lewis, Rodrigo Paranhos Velloso This is the high-fat book. These sharp cooks are bucking the low or no fat trend in healthy cooking. The authors want you to "celebrate the pleasures of guilt-free food with recipes that dare you to indulge in butter, eggs, cream, meat, and fat." If ever there was a risqué cookbook, this would be it. They are pushing the envelope, but you don't have to agree with their cooking philosophy to love the book. It is a fun and funny book and that is certainly agreeable to us. Check out their contributions to the Messy Gourmet. |
